Double Glazed Sealed Units
Our double glazed sealed units conform to British Standard kitemark BS En 1279.
A double glazed sealed unit comprises of two panes of glass held apart by a spacer bar usually bronze or silver the whole unit is then sealed around the perimeter. The air gap between the two sheets of glass reduces the heat conduction between the panes, which help keep more the warmth in your home during winter and out of your home during summer.
Double glazed sealed units are available in variety of glass choices, including clear, toughened, obscure, laminated, Pilkington K glass, Antisun and Georgian wired.
The overall thickness of sealed units is the two panes of glass plus the air gap. The air gap is generally between 12mm - 20mm. A 16mm air gap is considered the optimum thickness.
For a higher degree of insulation the air gap between the two panes can be filled with inert gases, Argon gas is popular for domestic use.
Horticultural Greenhouse Glass
Horticultural greenhouse glass is less optically clear than float glass.

Stock Sizes: 24" x 18" (610 x 457mm) 24" x 24" (610 x 610mm)28 3/4" x 56" (730mm x 1422 mm) known as Dutch light. We also cut horticultural greenhouse glass to size.

Self-Cleaning Glass

Self-cleaning glass (Pilkington Activ) is ideal for any external application, particular large areas like conservatories, it also offers a brilliant solution for difficult to reach areas like roof lights. It tends to work best on incline greater than 30 degrees to the horizontal, but works effectively down to angles of 10 degrees below this it becomes less effective due to poor water flow when it rains.

The unique dual-action of the Pilkington Activ coating uses rain to wash away loosened dirt to help keep the glass free from organic dirt, giving you the practical benefits of less cleaning, saving you time and money. During particularly dry periods hosing down or wiping with a soft cloth and warm soapy water easily cleans it. The unique coating last the lifetime of the glazing.

Satinized Glass
Is produced by acid etching one side of clear sheet of glass; Satinovo glass has a distinctive, uniformly smooth and satin-like appearance that gives obscurity/privacy without compromising light. One of the popular advantages of this product is that it does not mark with fingerprints or dirt as readily as traditional sandblasted/etched glass.
